Guatemalan Coffee

Although this country is not big, it has the most diverse weather in the world. Soil, rainfall, humidity, altitude and temperature changes are sufficient to produce seven different types of Guatemalan Arabica coffee.

Coba Rainforest

The area is defined as a very humid subtropical forest in the north of the country. In fact, Cobán's name comes from Maya Keckchi's "cob", which means the location of the cloud. The temperature varies according to the wind in the north and oscillates between 15-23 C (59-73 °F). The annual rainfall in the area is between 3,300 and 3,500 millimetres, and the rainy season is distributed throughout the year for twelve months. Cloudy weather, hours of sunshine and high relative humidity (85-95%). The soil is mostly limestone and clay. The microclimate is caused by the influence of the Atlantic Ocean. The altitude is between 4,300 and 5,000 feet, resulting in hard and strict coffee. Cobán's coffee has a medium build, a light sour and fruity taste. The aroma is rich and the aroma is strong. Bourbon, Maragogype, Catuai, Caturra and Pache coffee beans are grown in Cobán, harvested from December to March each year.

Huehuetenango Highland 

The area crosses the Cartier de Los Cuchamatanes, which is more than 11,800 feet above the area. It is located on the border with Mexico, where coffee is grown between 5,000 and 6,000 feet. The rainfall is about 1800 mm and the relative humidity is 70-80%. Dry and hot winds from the plains of Tehuantepec, Mexico protect the area from frost and create its unique microclimate. The average temperature is 23 ° C (73 ° F). The subtropical and humid climate contributes to the beautiful appearance and even maturity of the coffee beans. The flowering is homogeneous, producing a wine, high quality cup test. Planted in Huehue, Bourbon, Caturra and Catuai coffee beans. The harvest is from January to April each year.
